We had our second “Summer Short” study tonight! We watched the Intro video to Jennifer Rothchild’s “Walking in Faith; Lessons learned in the dark”. The first thing we did before the video started was get in pairs…one of us got blindfolded and the other one had to lead the blindfolded one to a destination in the room, with words only! Wow, what a powerful illustration of our faith walk with God!
Here are some of the comments about what we learned:
*We have to KNOW THE VOICE of the person you were trusting to get you to your destination! With a bunch of gals giving direction, you had to know which one to listen to! (How well do we KNOW GOD’s VOICE??)
*We have to TRUST that the ‘leader’ has your best interest in mind and will LEAD YOU CORRECTLY! (How well do we TRUST GOD’S plan for our lives?)
*If you are already wounded you tend to be even more cautious! (Do we follow God only when we are ‘healthy’?)
Jennifer Rothchild was born with sight, but went blind as a teenager due to an eye disease. She shared her story and what she has learned about walking in faith. Life is hard, but GOD IS GOOD! In spite of our CIRCUMSTANCES, we can say “IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL” because Christ has saved us and given us a way to know a God who loves us unconditionally!!
Hope you can join us for future ‘Summer Short’ Studies!!

The annual leadership retreat was held Sat. June 23, 2007 at Martha Town’s home. It was introspective and visionary. Our bellies and our spirits were filled…..watch for Christie’s granola recipe.

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so bare with me. I’d like to mention that there is a free concert this Saturday night at The Deerfield Free Methodist Church in Deerfield, MI. The concert starts at 8:00 p.m. The band performing is Broken Yoke. I’ve heard they are good, but have never listened to them personally. They are from Lima, OH and have performed in Lenawee County numerous times. I’m excited about checking it out.
